Innovation Platform members: ‘Investing with an even greater focus’ Thu, 26 Mar 2009 00:00:00 +0000 http://www.innovatieplatform.nl/en/press/investing-with-an-even-greater-focus.doc/ Press release response to recession package The Netherlands has to speed up as a knowledge country Fri, 27 Feb 2009 00:00:00 +0000 http://www.innovatieplatform.nl/en/press/kia-pressrelease.doc/ ‘The Netherlands can still be the country of talents in 2016, a real knowledge country, but in that case we will have to speed up’. This is the conclusion of Robbert Dijkgraaf during the presentation of the annually recurring evaluation of the Knowledge Investment Agenda (KIA), a long-term plan for the Dutch knowledge economy. The Knowledge Investment Agenda has been scrutinized for the second time by Alexander Rinnooy Kan on behalf of the Innovation Platform, together with Dijkgraaf, Gerard Kleisterlee, Kees Tetteroo and the 26 organizations which are signatories of the KIA, the so-called KIA coalition. According to Dijkgraaf: “Our country does not fall in the leading group in Europe or in the world. We still score above the European average, but we are followers and not leaders. Competitors such as the US, Germany, Finland, Sweden and Canada are currently investing significantly more in education, research, innovation and enterprise during this period of crisis. Alexander Rinnooy Kan states: ‘It is precisely at times of crisis that we have to make big investments in knowledge and innovation in order to bring the economy back on track. We have to urgently speed up. If we are able to do this, we may be able to reach the European top again by 2016.’ Prime Minister Balkenende officially launches change agenda for Dutch economy Wed, 01 Oct 2008 00:00:00 +0000 http://www.innovatieplatform.nl/en/press/change-agenda-dutch-economy.doc/ The Dutch Innovation Platform has brought together a large group of prominent players for the change agenda for the Dutch economy.
