Healthcare Project

The better the exchange of knowledge in healthcare is, the faster interesting initiatives can be disseminated and applied. The knowledge chain in healthcare is not working perfectly. The effective exchange of knowledge is currently being impeded by a conservative and unenterprising culture in healthcare institutions and by fragmentation in the funding of research. The Innovation Platform’s Healthcare project group analysed the obstacles and possibilities for innovations in Dutch healthcare.

Three areas for attention

The analysis revealed three areas for attention:

·

room to experiment with innovations (the Baanbrekende zorginnovaties (Trailblazing Healthcare Innovations) summit on 15 May was organised for this)

·

outcome-focused healthcare innovations

·

the Electronic Patients Dossier (EPD)

Donation to the Healthcare Innovation Platform

All the material produced (the 130 healthcare initiatives submitted, the four nominated healthcare projects, the obstacles and the suggestions for improvements) have been handed over to the Healthcare Innovation Platform (ZIP). This has fulfilled the Innovation Platform’s role as an active trailblazer in creating more scope for innovation in healthcare. The ZIP has committed itself to this material.
