27 February 2009 The Knowledge Investment Agenda (KIA) is a long-term agenda and is based on the three foundations of the knowledge society: a professional population that is educated as well as possible, the strengthening and better use of our knowledge base, and strengthening innovative capacity and enterprise. 1 October 2008 The Netherlands currently enjoys an extremely high level of prosperity and productivity, a position which was developed over a number of decades – with, in particular, a period of impressive acceleration during the years from 1985 to 2000. During these years the Netherlands implemented a successful programme in which the trade unions, employers’ federations and the authorities worked together to enhance the country’s competitive position.
4 September 2008 This position paper provides a starting point for the meeting of experts organised by the Innovation Platform on the 3rd of October on behalf of platform members Alexander Rinnooy Kan and Gerard Kleisterlee. This meeting of experts will bring together scientists and ‘decision makers’ from the business world in order to produce a joint analysis of the private R&D shortfall in the Netherlands.
4 October 2006 The Innovation platform has developed an ambition for the Netherlands in 2027 in which sustainability, welfare and prosperity have a central place. This ambition can be achieved only if people at every level of society are challenged to develop their talents in order to contribute to society. The KIA is a necessary step in the direction towards this picture of the Netherlands.
Watch the vision of the Innovation Platform on Netherlands by the year 2020: a modern industrial policy with strong economic sectors.
